Ceasefire monitors in war-torn South Sudan warned on June 30, 2016 of "appalling" violence in breach of a peace deal, as rivals battle despite the formation of a unity government in the world's youngest nation. كشفت وزارة الداخلية عن وعودات أمريكية بتقديم (41) مليون دولار، كدعم للاجئين بالسودان، بجانب التعاون بين البلدين في شتى المجالات.
وقال وزير الدولة بوزارة الداخلية مسؤول ملف اللاجئين “بابكر أحمد دقنة”، طبقاً للمركز السوداني للخدمات الصحفية، إن لقاءه بمساعد وزير الخارجية الأمريكي خلال المؤتمر العام بجنيف للدول المانحة والدول المستضيفة للاجئين بحث قضايا اللاجئين بالسودان، مبيناً أن المسؤول الأمريكي شكر السودان على مواقفه وتعاونه مع الأمم المتحدة، وقال إن السودان أحرز تقدماً كبيراً في حقوق الإنسان.
وأشار دقنة أنهم أكدوا لمساعد وزير الخارجية الأمريكي أن السودان يتلقى دعماً بما يعادل (20)% فقط من الدعم الخارجي وأن الدعومات الأخرى تأتي من الحكومة السودانية والمجتمعات المضيفة.
