He reportedly refused to eat anything other than fruits and snacks while he was inside, and after being visited by dozens of doctors, was finally declared "incompatible" not only with detention in prison, but also with the transfer to a psychiatric ward. According to the reports, a life of crime had led him to develop an aversion for men in uniforms and bars that had caused him to become depressed.A judge in Milan, Italy, has allowed him to move back to a property under house arrest so he can get better.Lampada was caught in November 2011 and sentenced to 14 years and 5 months in jail for Mafia associations.His lawyer Giuseppe Nardo said: "During his time in jail in the Liguria region, he never left his cell. He even needed help to go to bathroom."He has been allowed back to a house in Settimo Milanese, on the outskirts of Milan, to live in freedom after medics said it was the only way he might get better.The ruling means that the convicted criminal, who stood accused of bribing two judges in order to get information about the investigation against him, is back in a villa together with his wife and three daughters.(ends)
أفرجت السلطات الإيطالية عن سجين ينتمي إلى إحدى عصابات المافيا، بعدما ثبت أنه يعاني من “حساسية” شديدة من السجن، يمكن أن تمثل تهديدا على حياته.
وكان جوليو لامبادا، البالغ من العمر 44 عاما، قد أدين في عام 2011 لارتباطه بعصابة “كونديلو”، وحكم عليه بـ 14 سنة داخل السجن، بحسب وسائل إعلام محلية.
وفي الأشهر السبعة الأخيرة، خسر جوليو أكثر من 10 كيلوغرامات، كما أكد الأطباء أن وجوده داخل زنزانة السجن أصابه بالإحباط، حيث لم يخرج من الزنزانة مطلقا.
وعاش لامبادا خلال السنوات الماضية على الفواكه وبعض الوجبات الخفيفة رافضا تناول أي شيء آخر، وذلك حتى قرر الأطباء أنه لا يقوى على العيش داخل السجن أو حتى في العنبر الخاص بالحالات التي تعاني من اضطرابات نفسية.
وقضت محكمة في مدينة ميلانو بالإفراج عنه شرط الإقامة الجبرية في منزله، ليعيش مع زوجته وبناته الثلاث، وذلك بعدما أكد الأطباء بأن ذلك هو الطريق الوحيد ليتمكن من استرداد عافيته مجددا.
