بالصدفة البحتة اكتشفت الشرطة في باراغواي أن تاجر المخدرات البرازيلي، جارفيز بافاو يعيش في زنزانة يمكن أن يطلق عليها زنزانة “5 نجوم” بأحد سجون الدولة الأميركية الجنوبية.

وجاءت حملة الشرطة بعدما تلقت معلومات تشير إلى نية بافاو الهروب من السجن، عبر استعمال متفجرات.
وفوجئت قوات الشرطة لدى افتحامها الزنزانة باحتوائها على غرفة اجتماعات وتلفاز وأثاث فاخر وجهاز تكييف ومعدات رياضية، وهي الأغراض التي تم إتلافها لاحقا بواسطة رجال الأمن، وفقا لتقارير إعلامية محلية.

ومن الطريف، أن زملاء بافاو في السجن أكدوا أنه كان يؤجر زنزانته لمن يريد بـ 600 دولار في الأسبوع، بعد أن يدفع “المستأجر” مبلغا مقدما، ولمرة واحدة فقط يعادل 5000 دولار، وفقا لوكالة “فرانس برس”.

وفتحت السلطات تحقيقا لمعرفة كيفية دخول الأغراض الفاخرة إلى زنزانة بافاو، الذي تم نقله إلى مكان آخر.
ويقضي بافاو عقوبته، التي يفترض أن تنتهي العام المقبل، بتهمة غسيل الأموال، حيث كان من المتوقع أن يتم ترحيله إلى بلاده بعد انتهاء عقوبته.
